Here in Valle Aurina, younger guests always have plenty to discover – while adults can simply relax and let the day unfold naturally.
When the day is not planned down to the last detail, things simply happen by themselves: being outdoors, watching animals, playing, disappearing off for new adventures. And at the end of the day, everyone is wonderfully content.
You quickly notice that this is a place created by people who truly understand children.
There is plenty of space around the farm for playing, running around or simply relaxing. There is also a playground, two tennis courts, a fenced ball court and countless little corners for children to discover in their own way. The pond for splashing and playing is just as much a part of it as the paths and bushes perfect for hiding away.
Where are the animals at Maurlechnhof? They are almost everywhere. Sometimes in the stables, sometimes out on the paths – there is always something happening somewhere. Children stop to watch, help with feeding, stroke the animals – and quickly lose track of time. Around 20 horses live in the stables Pferde – Haflinger, Noriker, Quarter Horses and ponys. Then there are the two female donkeys Giulia and Meloni, little black donkey Peppino (Giulia’s son), rabbits, chickens, our dog Jackie and the cats Emmo and Smokey. And often, what was meant to be just a quick visit turns into much more time than anyone expected. By the way: have you ever experienced a donkey picnic? A wonderfully fun experience for the whole family!
Some days, the weather simply isn’t right for spending long hours outside. At Sportalm, the café and bistro directly on our grounds, you can sit down for something to eat or drink while the children play nearby. There is also an indoor playroom at the farm for the youngest children, which may only be used under parental supervision up to the age of 3. On days when the weather doesn´t play along, playing here is ideal.
There are plenty of destinations around Maurlechnhof that are perfect for a half-day or full-day family outing.
